چکیده
This paper proposes a rational approximation-based approach to find positive real parameters for the extended Debye model (EDM), aimed at condition assessment of insulation systems power transformers. The EDM can slow and fast polarization phenomenon, including relaxation mechanisms with different times within composite dielectric material. In proposed approach, complex permittivity transformer’s is approximated via functions, as given by vector fitting (VF) software tool, are identified from obtained poles/residues. To guarantee parameters, i.e., physically realizable circuit, VF internally modified calculate final residues approximation constrained linear least-squares problem without resorting further post-processing algorithms, in existing methods, hence affecting accuracy. effectiveness parametrized demonstrated two ways: (a) reconstructing frequency domain spectroscopy (FDS) curves provided measurements new oil-immersed transformers (b) comparison calculated current versus time domain. achieved accuracy most cases above 99 percent reconstructed FDS curves, while waveform reproduced good agreement.

Estimation of Moisture in Transformer Insulation Using Dielectric Frequency Response Analysis by Heuristic Algorithms
Transformers are one of the most valuable assets of power systems. Maintenance and condition assessment of transformers has become one of the concerns of researchers due to huge number of transformers has been approached to the end of their lifetimes. Transformer’s lifetime depends on the life of its insulation and the insulation’s life is strongly influenced by its moisture attraction as well....
متن کاملApplication of Vector Fitting to High Frequency Transformer Modeling
This paper describes a procedure for frequency dependent modeling of power transformers from measured terminal characteristics. The admittance matrix is measured in the frequency domain using a network analyzer and a dedicated measurement setup. Subsequent approximation of the admittance matrix with rational functions using Vector Fitting gives an EMTP-type compatible model suitable for transie...
متن کاملA New Method for Evaluating Moisture Content and Aging Degree of Transformer Oil-Paper Insulation Based on Frequency Domain Spectroscopy
The condition of oil-paper insulation is closely related to the life expectancy of a transformer. The accurate results of oil-paper have not been obtained due to the impact of influencing factors. Therefore, in order to improve the evaluation accuracy of oil-paper insulation, in this paper, oil-paper samples which were prepared with different aging and moisture content were analyzed by frequenc...
متن کاملClassification of transformer faults using frequency response analysis based on cross-correlation technique and support vector machine
One of the most important methods for transformers fault diagnosis (especially mechanical defects) is the frequency response analysis (FRA) method. The most important step in the FRA diagnostic process is to differentiate the faults and classify them in different classes. This paper uses the intelligent support vector machine (SVM) method to classify transformer faults. For this purpose, two gr...
متن کاملDetermination of Moisture Content in Mass Impregnated Cable Insulation Using Low Frequency Dielectric Spectroscopy
The variations in the low frequency dielectric spectra of mass impregnated insulation depending on its moisture content have been investigated. For the calibration purposes a number of the impregnated paper samples was kept in the desiccators where different relative humidities were maintained. Thus obtained moisture content in the samples ranged from 1 % up to 6 %. The variations of the comple...
